Background


In working on more cinematic content in Unreal Engine, I wanted to create a tense showdown between two characters. I wanted an apocalyptic feel for it, different than the serene quality that the former had. So the environment I had in mind had the same feel as the Obi-Wan/Anakin duel on Mustfar in Revenge of the Sith (I know…NERDY…).

The project utilized free assets from the Unreal Engine Marketplace, namely the one from the discontinued PARAGON game and Quixel Bridge.When it came to the particle effects, a premade pack of VFX was used. A combination of smoke, fire, and spark emitters were placed around the level.

A multi-camera system was used for various cuts, each virtual camera dedicated to close-ups, wide-shots, and tracking shots of the models.
